Course Description
This course will describe the capabilities of IMARIS, a 3D/4D image visualization and analysis software platform that is continuously evolving and innovating, enabling fast, robust, and intuitive image analysis.
This course introduces Imaris software for 3D and 4D microscopy analysis. Participants will learn visualization, data management, and segmentation using the Spots, Surfaces, Filaments, and Cells modules. A brief theoretical session will be complemented by guided hands-on practice using real datasets to address participants' own experimental questions.
Objectives
The aim of this course is to familiarize participants with the different modules included in the IMARIS Core Facilities package and, above all, to help them apply the most suitable analysis workflow to their own images in order to obtain the maximum quantitative and qualitative information from their datasets.
Understand the Imaris interface and data structure.
Visualize and navigate 3D/4D microscopy datasets.
Perform segmentation using Spots, Surfaces, Filaments, and Cells.
Extract and interpret quantitative measurements.
Apply analysis workflows to their own datasets.
Methodology
On October 5, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., a seminar introducing the IMARIS for Core Facilities package will be held. The seminar will provide a general overview of the different modules included in the package and their capabilities.
Following the seminar, individual 30-minute practical sessions will take place at the microscopy laboratory workstation where IMARIS is installed. Interested participants must register in advance to attend.
Available practical session time slots:
- October 5: 11:00-11:30, 11:30-12:00, 12:00-12:30, 12:30-13:00, 13:00-13:30, and 13:30-14:00.
- October 6: 10:00-10:30, 10:30-11:00, 11:00-11:30, 11:30-12:00, 12:00-12:30, 12:30-13:00, 13:00-13:30, and 13:30-14:00.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own image datasets so that we can help them determine the most appropriate analysis strategy. Those without their own datasets may still participate, although they may not fully benefit from the session.
