IRBLleida offers a session of research update to Secondary school teachers in the area of science

15 teachers attended the training yesterday, with a duration of 6 hours

With the aim of updating knowledge on the methodology, techniques and processes most common in the field of research, the Institute of Biomedical Research of Lleida (IRBLleida) has offered a sesion of training update for Secondary school teachers in the area of sciences. 15 professors attended yesterday the 6-hour training course located in the Teaching Unit of the University of Lleida (UdL), next to the University Hospital of Arnau de Vilanova de Lleida (HUAV).

The researcher of the Oncogenic Signalling and Development Group and UdL professor Joan Ribera is the coordinator of this third edition of the conference, which also presented and publicized the research lines of IRBLleida and its research support services.

The session included the following sessions: Genomic edition: promises and dangers by the main researcher of the Oncogenic Signalling and Development Group and UdL associate professor, Mario Encinas; Clinical challenges of neurodegenerative diseases by the principal investigator of the Clinical Neurosciences Group and associate professor of the UdL, Gerard Piñol Ripoll; Lower myths about the brain by the main researcher of the Brain Development and Evolution Group and professor of the UdL, Loreta Medina Hernández, and Microbiome and health: beyond the infections by the principal investigator of the Metabolic Physiopathology Group and professor of the UdL, Manel Portero.

The session also aimed to present the training circuits of predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers and to publicize the possibilities, means and methodologies used by IRBLleida when forming a junior researcher, to provide this information to the secondary education teachers who can promote the scientific vocation among students.
