Four postdoctoral researchers join IRBLleida in the framework of the European Marie Curie COFUND program

- The IRBLleida International Postdoctoral Program (IRBLleida-IPP) captures international talent to enhance biomedical research in Lleida. - The researchers selected in the third call come from India, Mexico and Venezuela.

Lleida, June 20th, 2017 Four new researchers have recently joined, or will do so in the coming weeks, the Institute of Biomedical Research of Lleida Fundació Dr. Pifarré (IRBLleida) thanks to IRBLleida-IPP. This program allows to attract researchers with talent and international experience, and give them the opportunity to develop their research career in Lleida, led by IRBLleida researchers and professors of the University of Lleida (UdL). Ricardo Romero, of Mexican nationality, has joined the Metabolic Pathophysiology Group, led by Manel Portero and Reinald Pamplona; Izaskun Urdanibia, with dual Spanish-Venezuelan nationality, is part of the Oncology Pathology Group, under the supervision of Xavier Dolcet; Rajesh Kumar Galimudi, of Indian nationality, will be part of the Translational Research Group on Vascular and Renal Disease, under the direction of José Manuel Valdivielso, and Soni Shaik, also of Indian nationality, will be integrated in the Cellular Signaling Group by Calcium, supervised By Carles Cantí and Judith Herreros. IRBLleida-IPP aims to develop a multidisciplinary training program for experienced, talented and motivated researchers to offer them the opportunity to develop their research career at the Institute. These researchers must be in the postdoctoral training stage, that is to say, be in possession of the doctor's degree, to be able to opt for one of the places.
