Lleida City Council's Councillor for Culture visits the work of German artist Edith Schaar at IRBLleida

Accompanied by emeritus researcher Josep Enric Esquerda, artist Palmira Rius and IRBLleida's Managing Director Eva López

Pilar Bosch, Councillor for Culture, City Promotion and Consumer Affairs at Lleida City Council, visited on 17 July the artworks by German artist Edith Schaar that are displayed at IRBLleida's facilities. During the visit, she was accompanied by emeritus researcher Josep Enric Esquerda, artist Palmira Rius and the Institute's Managing Director, Eva López.

The visit provided an opportunity to discover part of Edith Schaar's artistic legacy at first hand. Schaar, who celebrated her 100th birthday this year, has maintained a close connection with the region for decades. Born in Germany and settled in the Les Garrigues area since the 1980s, she has developed an artistic career characterised by a sensitive perspective on nature, landscape and research.

IRBLleida houses around twenty works by the artist, displayed throughout different areas of the institute. This collection reflects the centre's commitment to promoting culture and fostering connections between science, art and society. The artworks help to humanise research and working environments while bringing cultural heritage closer to staff, visitors and building users.
