IRBLleida mourns the passing of Professor and Researcher Manuel Portero Otín

The Institut de Recerca Biomèdica de Lleida (IRBLleida) deeply regrets the passing of Professor and Researcher Manuel Portero Otín, Principal Investigator of the Metabolic Pathophysiology Research Group at IRBLleida and Professor at the University of Lleida.

With his passing, our institution bids farewell to a distinguished researcher and an exceptional person who left a lasting mark on both the scientific and human dimensions of IRBLleida.

Throughout his career, he made a decisive contribution to advancing biomedical research in the Lleida region. His scientific excellence was always accompanied by a strong commitment to research, teaching, and the training of new generations of researchers.

IRBLleida joins the university and scientific communities in mourning his loss and extends its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all those who had the privilege of sharing part of their lives with him.
