Oriol Yuguero appointed new manager of Arnau and Santa Maria hospitals

Oriol Yuguero Torres, professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lleida (UdL) and head of ERLab, the Emergency and Urgent Care Research Group at the Biomedical Research Institute of Lleida (IRBLleida), has been appointed the new manager of the Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital (HUAV), succeeding Alfons Segarra. The Catalan Health Institute (ICS) appointed him following the resolution of a public recruitment process. Yuguero is also expected to take on an additional role next Monday, when the public company GSS, which manages Santa Maria Hospital, is scheduled to appoint him as its new manager.

A graduate in Medicine from the University of Lleida, Oriol Yuguero also holds a Master's degree in Bioethics and Law from the University of Barcelona (UB) and a Master's degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University (United States). In 2021, he received the ICS Young Researcher Award. Until now, he served as Territorial Clinical Director of Emergency Care for Lleida and the Alt Pirineu i Aran region.
