Around 100 people took part in the first series of workshops entitled 'Science and Wellbeing: health and knowledge for a fulfilling life', organised by Izaskun Urdanibia, a researcher with the Research group of Cancer Biomarkers (GReBiC) at the Lleida Institute for Biomedical Research (IRBLleida).

The workshops are designed to promote wellbeing and health awareness among people aged 40 and over, at a stage in life when it is essential to adopt habits that prevent chronic diseases and promote active ageing. Through an accessible talk and interactive activities, the researcher and lecturer at the University of Lleida has organised these workshops, which have taken place at various organisations in Ponent such as FeSalut and Aspid.

'The workshops aim to raise awareness among people about the importance of promoting active ageing through exercise and a healthy diet,' explained the researcher.

Funding for this activity has been made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) - Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
