Launch of WALA Esports’ 2026 Charity Rounding-Up Campaign for IRBLleida
The proceeds will go towards developing a cross-disciplinary research programme
This month, Wala sports shops, in partnership with WorldCoo, have launched a charitable rounding-up campaign to raise funds for IRBLleida. The proceeds will go towards developing a cross-disciplinary research programme aimed at understanding and addressing the health impacts of complex environmental exposures and climate change, whilst promoting precision medicine strategies for risk prevention and mitigation.
Climate change and the increase in heatwaves are driving up mortality rates and the incidence of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, particularly among vulnerable groups. This situation, coupled with the emergence of new infectious diseases linked to environmental factors, calls for new prevention and research strategies to strengthen the healthcare system.
Customers shopping at Wala will have the opportunity to fund the project by rounding up the total amount of their purchase, with the remaining pence being donated on 30 June 2026.
