IRBLleida, at the Barcelona Health Innovation Week
Activity organized by IBEC, coordinator of the Complementary Plan for Biotechnology applied to Health - initiative focused on the development of tools for diagnosis, prognosis and advanced therapies
The Biomedical Research Institute of Lleida has been present this week at the Barcelona Health Innovation Week, an activity organized by the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), coordinator of the Complementary Plan for Biotechnology applied to Health - initiative focused on the development of tools for diagnosis, prognosis and advanced therapies.
Within the framework of the Barcelona Health Innovation Week 2026, IBEC has organized the conference 'Scientific and technological innovation in health: transfer of results for the medicine of the future' to demonstrate that it is possible to connect the research ecosystem with the healthcare system and companies to promote personalized medicine, advanced therapies and technologies that improve diagnosis and treatment. The conference was attended by experts in technology transfer, including the head of the Projects and Innovation department at IRBLleida, Joaquín Bonelli, who shared strategies to accelerate the transfer of knowledge to the market and clinic as well as success stories that are already setting the path for the medicine of the future.
Innovation in health is key to facing the challenges of the health system and improving the quality of life of the citizen, but without transfer there is no impact. Catalonia is a benchmark in biomedical and biotechnology research, but the great challenge is to transform this knowledge into real solutions that reach the clinic and the patient.
