IRBLleida is joining the activities for the International Day of Women and Girls in Science with a screening of the film “Picture a Scientist” and a visit to the Institute

IRBLleida is organising various activities once again to commemorate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on 11 February. The IRBLleida Equality Commission has arranged for the Institute's staff to watch the documentary "Picture a Scientist". The aim is to create a discussion to recognise and raise awareness of the often difficult path many women have had to follow, as well as the inequalities they have faced in breaking new ground in the scientific field.

On this date, numerous activities are held aimed at giving visibility to women working in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields. IRBLleida is joining this initiative to create female role models for girls and to promote practices that contribute to achieving gender equality in the scientific field.

In addition to the film screening, a visit has also been organised for around thirty women from the Casal de la Dona - Paeria de Lleida's Feminist Policies Department, to introduce them to the Institute.
