Ennova Health Award for the PROMETEUS project for monitoring chronic diseases with digital tools

This is the second time the project has received an award this year

The PROMETEUS project, which transforms the management of chronic diseases through digital tools, was honoured at the Ennova Health Awards, held in Madrid on 19 November. This is the fifth edition of these awards, in the category 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Management'.

The project, which is being developed in the field of primary care in Lleida, has been designed by professionals from the health region, including general practitioners and primary care nurses, nephrologists from the Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital (HUAV) and internists from the Santa María University Hospital (HUSM), engineers from the Eurecat Foundation, information systems professionals (ICS-GSS) and primary care research professionals and professionals from the Lleida Institute of Biomedical Research (IRBLleida).

The project aims to improve cardiovascular risk assessment and stratification in primary care patients using technological and digital medicine tools, with a special focus on patients with hypertension. The system incorporates an integrable platform for primary care applications, providing professionals with functionalities they did not previously have, an application for patients that extends care beyond face-to-face consultations, and an artificial intelligence (AI) system. This system analyses various sociodemographic, anthropometric, comorbidity, pharmacological treatment and conventional outpatient clinical variables (blood pressure, heart rate, capillary glucose and BMI), among others. All of this allows for a more accurate stratification of cardiovascular risk and an estimation of the risk of hospitalisation and primary care. This is the second time the project has received an award this year, having previously been recognised by the CRES-AZ programme at Pompeu Fabra University in its second edition.

The Ennova Health Awards, organised by Diario Médico, also recognised the Radia project by the Radiotherapy Oncology Service at Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital in Lleida (HUAV), a chatbot designed specifically for patients starting radiotherapy treatment.
