ADIMA will read the World Breast Cancer Day manifesto at the IRBLleida March

The two entities join together in commemorating 19 October

The Association of Women Who Have Had Breast Surgery, ADIMA, will read its annual manifesto for World Breast Cancer Day as part of the IRBLleida March. This event is commemorated every 19 October, and this year, ADIMA and the Lleida Biomedical Research Institute (IRBLleida) are joining forces to raise awareness of this initiative.

The manifesto will be read by Carme Valls, Councillor for Feminist Policies at Lleida City Council, at 9.45 a.m., just before the start of the 3rd IRBLleida March. The location will be in the garden area between the IRBLleida building and the Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital in Lleida (Avda. Alcalde Rovira Roure, 80).

Sunday, 19 October is the date set for this initiative, the "IRBLleida Walk, we walk for research", which will celebrate its third edition in 2025. The walk will have two routes, one 5 km and one 10 km, located around IRBLleida (Avda. Alcalde Rovira Roure, 80). Registration is now open on the website iter.cat and the registration fee is €10 and €5 for children under 12. In addition, those who are unable to attend can contribute with a zero bib number. Companies and organisations that wish to do so can also collaborate and become a collaborating entity of the "IRBLleida Walk, we walk for research".

The most notable new feature in 2025 is the addition of an orienteering race. Six landmarks are the key points that participants will have to pass through in IRBLleida's first orienteering race. At each milestone, they will find different pieces of a puzzle, and when they have them all, they will have to return to the Biomedicine building, where the Lleida Biomedical Research Institute (IRBLleida) is located, to put it together.

Teams participating in the race can have a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 4 people. There are four categories: male, female, mixed and family (with one team member under the age of 12). The orienteering race is free, but one member of the team must be registered for the walk. This person may or may not take part in the walk (see registration section). Registration for the race is also available.

In addition, teams will find scientific messages related to World Breast Cancer Day.
