A researcher from the GReCS group at the regional forum on cervical cancer prevention and control in Latin America

Joan Valls, researcher with the IRBLleida GReCS group and professor at the University of Lleida (UdL), took part on 8 and 9 September in the regional forum "Prevention and control of cervical cancer in Latin America: towards comprehensive detection on a regional scale", held in Cuernavaca, Mexico.

The aim of the meeting was to bring together representatives from international organisations, health authorities and researchers to strengthen strategies for the prevention and control of cervical cancer. As an expert in this field, Valls participated in the panel discussion "Clinical management of HPV-positive women with precancerous cervical lesions: new scientific evidence" and the workshop "Continuity of the Latin American Consortium for the Prevention and Control of Cervical Cancer".

The forum was attended by experts from different countries such as Peru, Brazil and Argentina and from different organisations such as the World Health Organisation.
