Emotional 6th #SomRecerca Day at the Caixaforum with the presentation of the recently created IRBLleida Patients' Commission

Some 65 people attended the 6th #SomRecerca Day of the Institute for Research in Biomedicine of Lleida (IRBLleida) on 18 June at the Caixaforum Lleida. It was an emotional day in which the 13 members of the IRBLleida Patients' Commission introduced themselves and explained the needs and wishes of patients, their families and organisations in biomedical research. The trainee researcher, Marta Molinero, also explained how she has worked with the Patients' Commission in the creation of a research project.

The aim of the committee is to promote more inclusive research and innovation, where society can be given a voice and be heard so that it can play a more relevant role in all phases of research and innovation. The Caixaforum Lleida hosted the sixth edition of this initiative in which attendees will learn about the members of the commission and their relationship with the research areas of IRBLleida.

The conference "Let's go one step further? Putting the patient at the centre of IRBLleida's research" was promoted in 2019 by the Catalan Agency for Health Quality and Assessment (AQuAS) and the Department of Health.
