The Spanish Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology awards Natàlia Mota Martorell as best young researcher in basic sciences 2021-2022

The Spanish Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology has awarded, in the framework of its annual congress, the researcher Natàlia Mota Martorell as the best young researcher in basic sciences 2021-2022. The researcher, who represented the University of Lleida, is currently part of the Lipidomics Scientific-Technical Service of the Institute for Research in Biomedicine of Lleida (IRBLleida).

The award values the trajectory of the research personnel and the globality of their scientific production. Mota Martorell has been awarded the prize for her contributions to the physiology of the ageing process and the biological factors that determine longevity. In January 2021, the researcher defended her thesis entitled "Oxidative stress homeostasis and longevity in mammals", which she had developed in the Metabolic Physiopathology research group.
