The 'Researchers’ Night' returns to IRBLleida with workshops on the construction of DNA, basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the construction of lungs

On Friday 24 September, a new edition of the Researchers’ Night will take place. In Lleida, the Institute of Biomedical Research of Lleida (IRBLleida) will host from 17.00 to 21.00 hours different workshops to bring the research for the benefit of health that is done in the area. In addition, during the week, various talks and guided tours will take place. To attend any of the activities, everyone must register through the website nitdelarecerca.irblleida.org in order to meet the limited capacity.

This 2021 edition of the IRBLleida Research Night is possible thanks to the support of the 'la Caixa' Foundation, the Diputació de Lleida and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) of the Ministry of Science and Innovation. Lleida City Council is also collaborating in the organisation of the event.

The activities will begin on Monday 20 September with a guided tour of the centre and a talk by the Montsec Astronomy Park, which collaborates with IRBLleida in the activities leading up to the Research Night. The guided tours will be repeated until Thursday at different times. There will also be talks by professionals from the centre on the anti-tumour power of bee venom, rare diseases, the rehabilitation of people with Parkinson's disease or the use of artificial intelligence in cognitive impairment, and a workshop to become a surgeon at the CREBA centre, in Torrelameu.

Friday 24th will see 15 simultaneous scientific workshops aimed at different audiences, from children to adults. Workshops on the construction of DNA, cardiopulmonary resuscitation for children, seeing tumour cells, learning how we sleep and our brain, and the study of flies to study human diseases, among others. We will also have a planetarium and the collaboration of the Joan Oró Foundation, which will have an information stand.

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine of Lleida is organising talks and guided tours at the centre from 20 to 24 September and several workshops on Friday 24 from 17:00 to 21:00
