IRBLleida raises 136.20 euros for the AECC Lleida thanks to the pilot programme to promote fruit consumption in the workplace

It also gets 81 euros from the sale of "mask holders" for the World Breast Cancer Day campaign

The Lleida Institute for Biomedical Research (IRBLleida) has raised 136.20 euros for the AECC - Catalonia Against Cancer in Lleida thanks to the pilot programme promoted to promote fruit consumption in a working environment. From November 2019 until March 2020, when the health pandemic was declared, every Tuesday IRBLleida had 50 pieces of seasonal fruit distributed by the fruit shop Sara Fruits so that the centre's professionals could acquire them by means of a donation.

In addition, IRBLleida also raised 81 euros through the sale of "mask holders" for the World Breast Cancer Day campaign. All the proceeds from these two initiatives go to the AECC of Lleida.

IRBLleida and the AECC are collaborating on several proposals to work together on cancer research. The AECC Lleida provides different services and benefits free of charge to the entire region, such as psychological care, social care, medical-health guidance, volunteer service and physiotherapy, self-care workshops, training actions, guidance and support and research. In addition, the AECC offers workshops, conferences and activities to promote healthy living habits and cancer prevention.

IRBLleida belongs to the Institution of Research Centres in Catalonia (iCERCA), which is organised according to a model of good governance and operation that ensures the efficiency, management flexibility, attraction and promotion of talent, strategic planning and executive capacity of the research centres in Catalonia.
