UdL professor and IRBLleida researcher Anton Aluja, advisor to the appeals committee of the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency

The researcher will be responsible for issuing review reports in the field of psychology

Anton Aluja Fabregat, professor of psychology at the University of Lleida (UdL) and head of the Neurocognition, psychobiology of the personality and behavioral genetics group at the Institute of Biomedical Research of Lleida (IRBLleida), has been appointed advisor to the Appeals Committee of the Agency for Quality Assurance in the Catalan University System (AQU). Aluja has been appointed and shares this responsibility with Eugenio García-Albe, professor at the Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona.

"This assignment is an important professional merit and also for institutions such as the UdL and IRBLleida, since only two psychology professors can advise on accreditation appeals or six-year periods," explained the researcher.

The AQU Catalonia Appeals Committee is the only body that has the function of resolving appeals lodged against the decisions of the Research Assessment Committee and the other assessment, certification and accreditation committees. It is therefore in charge of reviewing appeals lodged in faculty evaluations and institutional evaluations. The reviewers will be responsible for issuing technical reports on appeals in Psychology by the Appeals Commission for a period of four years.

Aluja is an evaluator for the AQU and the National Agency for Evaluation and Prospective (ANEP) of the General Secretariat for Research of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. He is also an expert in scientific productivity assessment and promoter and coordinator of the websites www.produ-science.udl.cat  and www.psy-wos.es.
