  • Characteristics: the course will address the importance of having a reliable database and the impact of missing data depending on their different types, with regard to assessing the external validity of our data. The course will have a strong practical focus and will be structured in two parts: a first part on the design and creation of a good database, using Excel, Jamovi or REDCap (the most recommended and accessible option for IRBLleida researchers), and a second part on initial data cleaning and validation, as well as data cleaning or correction when necessary, which is efficient to carry out as a preliminary step before any statistical analysis. The course will also introduce the FAIR data principles in the context of open science and aspects related to data documentation.
  • Target audience: IRBLleida employed staff, affiliated staff and collaborators (10 places). People involved in the management or analysis of biomedical research data.
  • Language: Catalan, Spanish or English, depending on the participants.
  • Duration: 15 hours.
  • Dates: March 9, 11, 16, 18, 23 and 25, 2026.
  • Schedule: from 1:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
  • Location: Martina Castells room (Biomedicina II, 4th floor).
  • Format: on-site.
  • Participants must bring a laptop to the sessions.
