1. Justification
Cardiorespiratory arrest (RCA) is one of the main life emergencies, with a high incidence and impact on mortality and disability. Scientific evidence shows that early initiation of basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the immediate use of the automated external defibrillator (AED) multiply by two or three the chances of survival with a good neurological prognosis.
However, numerous studies and international recommendations (European Resuscitation Council, American Heart Association) show that the survival rate depends directly on the ability of first responders and healthcare professionals to quickly recognize the situation, activate the chain of survival and apply TMV-AED maneuvers in a safe, effective and coordinated manner.
2. Objectives
Perform basic life support (BLS) in patients with cardiorespiratory arrest who require it.
Apply the automated external defibrillator (AED) in patients with cardiorespiratory arrest who require it.
3. Methodology
The learning of ACTIC and AED techniques is carried out through practices with simulation material, so that the space and time for each student to carry out the complete practice autonomously.
