SERHS Food renews the collaboration agreement with IRBLleida

To promote, develop, manage and disseminate biomedical research and research training

The Lleida Institute for Biomedical Research Dr. Pifarré Foundation (IRBLleida) and SERHS Food have renewed the collaboration agreement that the two entities have had for some years to promote, develop, manage and disseminate biomedical research and research training in the field of health sciences, mainly in Lleida.

For more than 40 years, SERHS Food has shown a special commitment to society and the economic and social environment. In the case of Lleida, the company has a special implantation that has recently increased with the management of the food service of new centres such as the Hospital de Salut Mental and the Centre Assistencial de Almacelles de Sant Joan de Déu Terres de Lleida and which have been added to the socio-health complex of the Hospital Universitari Arnau de Vilanova de Lleida (HUAV) and the Hospital Universitari de Santa Maria. In the area of education, SERHS Food has been providing food services for more than 4 years at the Claver Raimat School (Jesuits of Lleida) for more than 1,300 students, a centre of reference in the territory.

IRBLleida is made up of research groups that work at the University of Lleida and the Lleida Health System to investigate relevant diseases such as cancer, stroke, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, pleura, aging, the nervous system, the cardiovascular system, respiratory disorders and infections, and mental disorders, among others. It has almost five hundred people related to research and brings together biomedical research in Lleida, both in the health field and in the university environment. Since it was set up in 2004, IRBLleida's scientific activity has multiplied and it has the support of more than 160 companies and organisations in Lleida, with the help of which the research carried out by its groups has produced important results, as it has made it possible to better understand these diseases and to improve their diagnosis and treatment.
