Course of minimally invasive surgery for veterinarians in the CREBA center

For two days, 6 professionals will be trained in surgical techniques with little application in animals due to the lack of specialization of the professionals and the cost of the equipment

The CREBA Center of the Biomedical Research Institute of Lleida (IRBLleida) hosts, on January 30 and 31, the third edition of the course 'Initiation to laparoscopic surgery for veterinarians'. The training aims to encourage minimally invasive surgery in veterinary practice, a technique still little used in animals due to the lack of specialization of professionals and the cost of equipment.

Doctors from the General Surgery Service of the Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital (HUAV), together with veterinarians from various centers, will teach this course. The training of veterinarians is key to being able to consider these techniques in our pets. The course is divided into theoretical sessions (online videos) on basic principles and techniques of laparoscopic surgery, and practices with simulation exercises and animal models.
