The Carlos III Health Institute finances 9 new research projects of IRBLleida

Research will be carried out in the field of nephrology, skin cancer, endocrinology and diseases such as sleep apnea, Alzheimer's and tuberculosis, among others.

The Biomedical Research Institute of Lleida (IRBLleida) has received funding for 9 new research projects in the call for health research projects (health research fund [FIS]) of the Carlos III Health Institute. In total, IRBLleida will receive € 824,312.5 to finance the projects for 3 years, from 2019 to 2021.

This financial allowance will finance projects in the field of nephrology, skin cancer and endocrinology, as well as diseases such as sleep apnea, Alzheimer's disease and tuberculosis, and will allow the analysis of circadian health in patients admitted to hospital centers.

In the same call of the Strategic Action in Health, a Miguel Servet contract has been granted. This is an action that allows the hiring of doctors with an accredited research career, including the financing of a research project. This person will join the Research Group of the Nephrology Area. The Clinical Neurosciences Group has also been awarded a contract from a research trainee.

All these aids allow the promotion and promotion of biomedical research in Lleida.
