Lleida, November 29th, 2016 Medical professionals and patients recognize the utility to ensure the monitoring of hypertensive patients BPControl application, a tool developed by researchers at the University of Lleida (UDL), the Institute for Biomedical Research Foundation Dr. Lleida Pifarré (IRBLleida), the University Hospital Arnau de Vilanova in Lleida (HUAV), the University Hospital Santa Maria de Lleida Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, â€‹â€‹University of Barcelona (UB) and the Lleida company Hesoft Group. BPControl part of Home Blood Pressure Software Framework (HBPF) integrated server and application mentioned. 87% 100% of patients and medical professionals who have completed the questionnaire would recommend using 82% and 100% of patients and medical professionals believe it is useful to reduce visits to the center. Respondents also highlighted the ease of use of the application. The questionnaire was completed by 38 patients and three doctors from the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona and the results have been published in the journal Peer J Computer Science. By BPControl, hypertensive patients recorded their blood pressure at home and send the readings to a health professional who has an online program that is responsible for establishing the necessary measures. This commitment to eHealth allows patients to significantly reduce the cost of transportation to their health and also that establish a direct communication in real time.
