IRBLleida recovers its scientific retreat

With presentations of projects from each research area and working groups to promote innovation, internationalization and translational research

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine of Lleida (IRBLleida) brought back its face-to-face scientific 'retreat' on 17 and 18 June at Rocallaura. The aim of the meeting was to find research synergies between the 37 research groups that make up the Institute and to promote innovation, internationalisation and translational research, among others.

The heads of research groups and research staff with an active research project met for two days in which biomedical research was the protagonist. The session was opened by Francesc Iglesias, head of the support office for innovation and research at the Catalan Institute of Health (ICS). Subsequently, there were 5 presentations of a research project from each of the 5 areas that make up the IRBLleida.

  • Area of Epidemiology, Infectious Diseases and Public Health, Joan Fibla.
  • Area of Chronic Diseases, Surgery and Health Care, Esther Rubinat.
  • Area of Cancer, Anabel Sorolla.
  • Area of Neurosciences, Francesc Purroy.
  • Area of Nutrition, Metabolism and Cellular Stress, Rui Alves.

On the second day, the staff divided into working groups to look for actions to improve in areas of special interest such as innovation, internationalisation, translational research and research support.
