HUAV Medical Director José Manuel Porcel, elected Fellow of the European Federation of Internal Medicine

He is head of the Research group of Cancer Biomarkers (GReBiC)

The European Federation of Internal Medicine (FEFIM) has awarded José Manuel Porcel, medical director of the Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital and head of the Research group of Cancer Biomarkers (GReBiC) of the Biomedical Research Institute of Lleida (IRBLleida), the distinction of Fellow, reserved for professionals who have stood out for their merits and contributions to internal medicine in Europe. The FEFIM distinguished Porcel last Thursday, June 9, during the celebration of the XX European Congress of Internal Medicine held in Malaga.

Founded in 1996, the FEFIM is an international organization made up of 34 European internal medicine societies. Its objectives include highlighting the importance of the specialty, establishing bridges of connection between European internists, organizing congresses and meetings, and providing information on internal medicine to public and private institutions.

Porcel, who is also a professor at the University of Lleida (UdL), is also a Fellow of the European Respiratory Society (2019), the American College of Physicians (2000), the American College of Chest Physicians (2000) and the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology (2013).
