The IRBLleida premieres "Lleida conCiencia", a podcast on research carried out in Lleida

Precision medicine, COVID-19 and respiratory disease or oncological pathology are some of the podcasts that can be listened to on the platforms

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine of Lleida (IRBLleida) will start this September the series of podcasts "Lleida conCiencia" to make scientific dissemination of biomedical research carried out in Lleida. Lleida TV journalist Mariví Chacón will talk to research staff at the centre to explain in a clear and direct way the research they are carrying out.

The first three episodes, which will be broadcast on a monthly basis, will feature the following witnesses:

  • Manuel Sánchez de la Torre, Ramon y Cajal professor at the University of Lleida (UdL) and head of the Precision Medicine in Chronic Diseases Group at the IRBLleida, who will talk about the importance of personalised medicine.
  • Jessica González, physician at the Pneumology Department of the Hospital Universitari Arnau de Vilanova de Lleida (HUAV) and member of the Translational Research in Respiratory Medicine research group of the IRBLleida, who will talk about COVID-19 and respiratory disease.
  • Xavier Matias-Guiu, head of the Pathology Anatomy Service at the HUAV and head of the Oncological Pathology research group at the IRBLleida, and Nuria Eritja, lecturer at the UdL and principal investigator of the Oncological Pathology research group, who will talk about cancer.
